Penny & The Quarters - You and Me

You and me,
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me. (Hey, hey, hey)
You and me, (My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my)
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me.

If the stars don’t shine, if the moon won’t rise, if I never see the setting sun again,
You won’t hear me cry, this I testify; please believe me, boy, you know I wouldn’t lie.
As long as there is

You and me, (Ohhh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me. (Hey, hey, hey)
You and me, (My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my)
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me.

If you love a soul more than fame and gold, and that soul feels the same about you,
It’s a natural fact, there’s no turning back, and here’s some advice to you:
You’ve got to say it’s,

You and me, (Ohhh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me. (Hey, hey, hey)
You and me, (My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my)
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me.

When love is real, you don’t have to show it.
When it is true, then everyone will know.
‘Cause there’ll be no one but

You and me, (Youuuuuuu)
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me. (Hey, hey, hey)
You and me, (Ohhh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me.

Do do do dooo do, woo woo
Do do do dooo do, woo woo
Do do do dooo do, woo woo
Do do do dooo do, woo woo

You Always Hurt the One You Love

You always hurt the one you love
The one you shouldn’t hurt at all
You always take the sweetest rose
And crush it till the petals fall

You always break the kindest heart
With a hasty word you can’t recall, so
If I broke your heart last night
It’s because I love you most of all

Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes - The Love I Lost (Dimitri from Paris super disco blend)

Peter and Gordon - I Go To Pieces

When I see her comin’ down the street
I get so shaky and I feel so weak
I tell my eyes look the other way
But they don’t seem to hear a word I say

And I, go to pieces and I wanna hide
Go to pieces and I almost die
Everytime my baby passes by

I tell my arms they’ll hold someone new
Another love that will be true
But they don’t listen, they don’t seem to care
They reach for her but she’s not there

And I, go to pieces and I wanna hide
Go to pieces and I almost die
Everytime my baby passes by

I remember what she said when she said
“Goodbye baby. We’ll meet again soon maybe”
“But until we do, all my best to you”
I’m so lonely, I think about her only

I go to places we used to go
But I know she’ll never show
She hurt me so much inside
Now I hope she’s satisfied

And I, go to pieces and I wanna hide
Go to pieces and I almost die
Everytime my baby passes by
Go to pieces and I cry
Everytime my baby passes by
Go to pieces and I cry

Reading Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World and the main character referring to this song put a smile on my face cause this is one of my favorite song.

Dial my number
Knock on the door
Write me a letter
But just let me know
Cause you can cry to me (cry to me)
Honey cry to me (cry to me)
No matter how harder things got to be
You can cry to me (cry to me)
Oh yes you can cry, oh oh oh oh oh

Don’t know if it’s too dramatic of way to tell people that I’ll always be there.

“You see god, if he sees you don’t want something that’s good for you. He takes it away from you and gives it to somebody else that can use it.”

I Wish You Love

I really love oldies cause they sure don’t write love songs like they use to.

One of my favorite song is Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ Dawn. I heard it on the radio and remembered the first moment I heard the song, the chorus is what always gets me thinking,

“Dawn, go away I’m no good for you
Oh, Dawn, stay with him he’ll be good to you
Hang on, Hang on to him

Think, what a big man he’ll be
Think, all the places you’ll see
Now think what the future would be
with a poor boy like me”

Definitely an instance on social classes even though at the time the song was written and released, it’s still really applicable in today’s society. If you much rather read my rant then hear the song, it’s a narrative on a boy on the other end of the social spectrum turning down a girl basically cause he can’t provide her the luxury that another could provide.

Don’t really know I’m writing about this, maybe is the selflessness portrayed in the song is the type of romance I have always admired. Though, I often have the thought about something like this though, familial background…can’t say my family is the most educated and being middle class citizens. Something in my thought always thinking if I ever meet anyone, our families won’t jive. :/

I’ve talked too much, my point is enjoy this awesome piece of music cause they sure don’t write them like they use to. Take away what you will from it. Enjoy!

P.S. Definitely going to try and catch Jersey Boy next time it’s in town.
